Christmastime in the City Events a Success in 2007!
| Despite the cold temperatures, the recent
success of “Christmastime in the City" events left downtown with a
happy, warm feeling. On Thursday night, November 30th,
hundreds visited Pizza Plus to eat tasty pizza and visit with Santa. The
annual tree lighting entertained hundreds outside, as the Memorial High
School Madrigal Singers impressed everyone with their
talent. Event-goers also enjoyed standing around a crackling fire and
sipping free hot cider and coffee courtesy of The Purple Petunia. More fun was had on Saturday, December 2nd,
as Santa returned to Pizza Plus. This time, the Diamond School of Dance
students performed holiday dances throughout the day at Pizza Plus,
while packed horse-drawn wagon rides brought people through the streets
of downtown. The Purple Petunia returned with more free hot cider and
coffee, and Model Train Classics Plus held their annual open house.
