Jump-Start Downtown 2008
Win $5,000 in start-up capital!
"Jump-Start Downtown" is a business competition for entrepreneurs interested in opening a business in Downtown Eau Claire. This competition is open to any type of business - from hi-tech office services to specialty gift shops.
Grand Prize: $5,000 start-up capital
Eligibility: Participants must be
18 years of age or older and interested in starting a business in
Downtown Eau Claire or relocating a business to Downtown Eau Claire.
Participants cannot enter a business already located downtown at the
time of entry into the competition. Proposed business must open by May
2009.
To Enter: Participants must submit an application and a business plan for their proposed business to Downtown Eau Claire, Inc. by May 31st, 2008.

Business Seminars: In order to further assist those entering into the
competition, DECI makes available a number of business classes hosted by
area businesses. These classes range from the basics of a business
plan to consultation for small businesses.
Despite the low cost participants are required to register ahead of
